About the Role & Team

As the HR Business Partner, you will provide HR Partnership and support to a variety of departments within the Interactive division including our Product, Marketing, Sales, Content, e-sports and our PENN Game Studios. You will work closely with managers, supervisors and team members providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues including talent management, employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, employee engagement and training.

The HR Business Partner plays an essential role in establishing and driving HR programs/talent initiatives forward and offers thought leadership regarding organizational and people strategy and execution within the specific business areas they support. This role will have a HR generalist reporting into them supporting the dedicated business units

About the Work
  • Provide coaching and HR expertise to Supervisors, Managers and business Leadership in employee relations, talent management, learning & development, employee engagement and HR legal matters.
  • Lead core HR processes across their business group (e.g., performance calibration, compensation cycle, promotions) and provide HR support to team members at all levels.
  • Analyze and interpret various employee reports and trends (e.g., compensation, job levels, engagement and attrition) to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions to their business group.
  • Conduct effective investigations and recommend action for sensitive and complex employee relations matters
  • Facilitate learning & development programs in areas of training, development, career mobility, and job performance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Engagement and Diversity programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on internal and external recruitment efforts
  • Optimize the HR systems to meet workforce requirements creating opportunities for automation, reduction of manual processes and increased efficiency.
  • Participate in the continued development of HR programs and processes.
  • Manage approval and review of HR forms, payroll enquiries, timesheets for all non-exempt team members and review time off requests.
  • Manage the onboarding and orientation process for new hires
  • Manage terminations and required offboarding processes
  • Partner with Compliance to ensure licensing requirements for all applicable employees are met.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and legislation and ensure compliance with all Labor Laws.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as required.
  • Provide leadership and supervision of the HR Generalist reporting into the HRBP.
  • Other duties as required.

About You
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in HR.
  • University and/or College education with a specialty in Human Resources
  • Experience managing and supervising HR team member(s)
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to work at both a strategic and operational level with the ability to influence effectively across all levels of a company.
  • Demonstrated experience in various HR functional areas (e.g. employee relations, employee engagement, talent management, performance management, compensation, etc.)
  • A deep knowledge of HR programs, practices and legislation, including applicable state, federal and provincial employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge in Excel. Experience with HRIS systems is preferred. UKG experience is an asset.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach, influence, and partner with business leaders.
  • Natural problem solver with the ability and desire to flex from big picture strategic thinking to hands-on execution.
  • Highly collaborative with a sense of inquisitiveness and intellectual curiosity; ability to listen and learn from others.
  • Highly proactive style of work, with a demonstrated track record of developing innovative approaches
  • Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and have a "can do" energetic attitude.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments/projects with similar deadlines.
