Medical Director – AHG Quality, Informatics and Compliance

 

Summary

Arkansas Health Group (AHG) employs approximately 700 physicians and advanced practice providers in the Baptist Health System across 12 hospitals and >120 clinical practice groups. The Physician Leadership Team consists of the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Specialties, and Medical Director of Primary Care and the Medical Director Quality, Information and Compliance (QIC).

 

The QIC Medical Director must be a physician with board certification in his/her primary discipline and have > 5 years experience in clinical practice and significant experience in medical informatics, quality improvement and/or compliance, Board certification in Medical Informatics is preferred. A masters degree in business or health administration, or public health is not required but would bring a management acumen to the role. 

 

The QIC MD  is an integral member of the AHG management team, responsible for interfacing with participating provider practices, AHG Sr. Leadership & Health System/Hospital Leadership for mission-critical programs and projects in integrated health delivery.



Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a member of the BHMG (Baptist Health Medical Group) Physician Leadership team and integrate with the  AHG leadership team  
  2. Oversee the development of a comprehensive provider onboarding program to train providers coming into the the Baptist Health System with Epic utilization, 
  3. Oversee compliant documentation and billing practices, and our quality improvement program. 
  4. Work directly with BH IT/Epic, Compliance and Quality teams. 
  5. Oversee development and application of Quality Improvement Goals and metrics for each clinical speciality group of providers with application of measurement and tracking of goal performance in Epic.
  6. Oversee the education and performance of QIC champions with one selected from each clinic or clinical group.
  7. Develop QIC Champion education with semi-annual day-long training seminars and monthly of bimonthly 1 hour update training. 
  8. The Primary Care and Specialties Medical DIrectors and CMO will share the effort of working with the QIC Medical Director with each clinical discipline to develop meaningful and measurable quality goals with the intent of using consistent goals across the system for a given speciality. 
  9. Work directly with specific clinical  groups on special projects related to program development. 
  10. Provide 1:1 instruction to specific providers as indicated. 
  11. Participate directly in the AHG Provider Workforce Committee and recruitment process.
  12. Attend bimonthly AHG Manager’s meetings to keep the finger on the pulse of clinic/group management and provide insight as needed.

 

Requirements
Doctorate degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine

Board Certification in primary discipline

> 5 years practice experience

Extensive experience in Medical Informatics, Quality Improvement, and/or Compliance, Board certification in Medical Informatics is preferred.
