The Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHCS) is searching for a BE/BC Pulmonologist to join their dynamic healthcare team.
The Pulmonologist evaluates and treats pulmonary and sleep conditions on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Outpatient clinics will be held on both the Montgomery and Tuskegee campuses. Traditional and non-traditional modalities of care will be used.
The Pulmonologist must have critical care skills, interpret PFTs and sleep studies and perform procedures including but not limited to CVP placement, intubation, bronchoscopy, etc. The Pulmonologist may be assigned to act as the ICU Director/Attending duties in the absence of the ICU Director.
The Pulmonologist rotates on-call with one other Pulmonologist on a regular basis. He/She also may work off-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as priorities demonstrate a need.

Administrative and other functions as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with on-call duties on the weekend, night and holiday coverage as necessary
Salary Range: up to $240,000 per year
Recruitment/Relocation incentive may be available for a highly qualified candidate
Selected candidate may be able to apply for education loan assistance thru the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation is based on funds availability.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
BLS/ACLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification is required.
Board Certification/Eligible: Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine.
Preferred Experience: Minimum of one-year direct patient care post fellowship.
