We have multiple locations throughout the Midwest & Southeast, and are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for our Corporate Office in Indianapolis, IN, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This is an in-office position.

Our desired candidate will be self-motivated and hard working.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists and counsels hiring managers through the processes of recruitment, interview, selection, and onboarding
  • Manages employee benefits program for our 350 Employee-owners. This includes designing and delivering benefit education programs; analyzing benefit offerings and recommending benefit program enhancements to leadership; obtaining and evaluating benefit contracts in coordination with leadership team; participating as an advisor to the 401(k) & ESOP committees
  • Monitors and assists with workforce planning and employee performance reviews. This includes collaborating with managers and supervisors to determine workforce needs; training managers to evaluate employee performance; coaching managers and supervisors on appropriate and effective feedback delivery; receiving, investigating, and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors
  • Creates and maintains job descriptions and job requirements
  • Assures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws; prepares and updates human resource policies and procedures; conducts investigations; maintains records; etc.
  • Benchmarks best practices in all areas of human resources and advises leadership on application and implementation
  • Manages a team of two HR professionals to accomplish these responsibilities
  • Travels occasionally to support branch locations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, or related degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR functions
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience

Preferred:
  • Professional Certification through SHRM/HRCI
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now for recruitment, onboarding, open enrollment, and benefits administration
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer service focus
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational development, training, talent acquisition, employment law, employee relations, Affirmative Action, safety, and benefit administration
  • Proven professionalism; interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a wide audience using all communication methods
  • Demonstrated discretion and ability to work with confidential information
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite products
