ABOUT THE JOB
Tepa Companies are seeking a Vice President, Technology to work closely with the Executive Vice President (EVP), Project Managers, and staff as needed to assist with business development, management, operations, staff, and production needs to:
- Support and assist the EVP with development of strategic direction, business development and project optimization.
- Directly manage staff as assigned.
- Procure, promote and cultivate relationships with clients.
- Provide support to the identification and pursuit of business opportunities to include proposal generation.
- Develop and implement streamlined and standardized processes and procedures supporting Technology operations consistent with Tepa's organizational policies.
- Assist with the overall management of operations in alignment with Tepa's vision, core values, and goals.
- Provide project/program management, as needed.
Job Functions:
- Partner with EVP to implement direct management processes including, but not limited to, business development direction, contract management, and program/project team oversight.
- Ensure technical staff are managed, mentored, and trained to support the project managers and clients.
- Help manage strategic initiatives of the Technology Business Unit to meet or exceed approved business plans.
- Ensure streamlined and standardized processes are developed to support effective business unit operations, consistent with Tepa standards, for areas including safety, quality, project management, contracting and subcontracting, field readiness, proposal development and security.
- Provide recommendations and feedback on proposed Enterprise systems that impact Technology operations
- Promote positive working support and collaboration with other Tepa divisions in Business Development efforts and project collaboration and staff resource support.
- Lead project cost estimating and conduct review of estimates by others.
- Provide input and guidance on the selection of team members and selection of subcontractor(s).
- Support the Section Managers, Talent Management, and HR teams to assure Tepa can effectively hire, coach/counsel, and terminate employees and subcontractors as needed.
- Assist project managers with technical issues, scheduling, cost control measures, administrative and customer service skills.
- Assist Project Managers in providing direction as needed in response to the customer/job issues, staffing issues, or site concerns.
- Participate in contract negotiations and contract dispute meetings as necessary.
- Perform project management duties for assigned projects.
- Other duties as assigned by the EVP.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in earth sciences, technology, environmental, or other related field and/or 10+ years' experience in a similar management-level position.
- 10+ years' experience developing cost estimates and developing proposals/bids.
- 10+ years' experience managing project teams as well as subcontractors.
- 10+ years' direct experience in contract management.
- Experience managing a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Proven organizational leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to keep and maintain confidential and secure records and information.
Preferred Education and Experience (not required):
- Previous Tepa project management experience
- Previous experience in professional services organization
- Project Management Professional certification
- Experience in an 8(a) organization
