As our human resources generalist, you will support our human resources team in recruitment and staffing, benefits administration, employee relations, recordkeeping, and ensuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and laws pertaining to employment. Every day, you will serve our employees and applicants by partnering with departments to recruit and fill open positions from start to finish (writing job descriptions, posting jobs, interviewing, conducting background and reference checks, onboarding.) You'll be our go-to resource for answering benefit-related questions, assisting with employee relations, updating employment records and more.

Human Resources Generalist

As our human resources generalist, you will support our human resources team in recruitment and staffing, benefits administration, employee relations, recordkeeping, and ensuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and laws pertaining to employment. Every day, you will serve our employees and applicants by partnering with departments to recruit and fill open positions from start to finish (writing job descriptions, posting jobs, interviewing, conducting background and reference checks, onboarding.) You'll be our go-to resource for answering benefit-related questions, assisting with employee relations, updating employment records and more.
Here's what you can expect:
- Start to finish recruitment activities, including representing the credit union at career fairs and other external events
- Leading benefits administration including billing, communication with vendors, updates to plans and plan documents, coordinating and conducting open enrollment.
- Completing required reporting such as EEO-1, ACA, non-discrimination testing, and Affirmative Action
- Assisting with maintaining employment records, records retention, annual budgeting, NMLS licensure, reviewing and interpreting policy manual, department-related presentations, and internal and external HR audits
- Supportive, positive environment
- 40 hours a week, typically 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field with a minimum of two years' related work experience with progressively responsible duties preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience in employment law, compliance, recruiting/hiring, benefit administration and employee relations required.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
- Effective communication with coworkers and members
