Job Description
Distribution Representative

Location: Hopkinton, MA

Onsite full time Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm- No overtime at this time

Year Experience: 1-2 years of experience

Interview Process: In person or virtual if needed -1 round

Summary:

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

Responsible for fulfilling expedited requests for customer escalation issues. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift or pallet jack.

Performs a variety of coordinating, routing, and material handling duties to meet production schedules.

Expedites parts to remedy shortage problems. Monitors the flow of materials and parts between departments in order to meet scheduled commitments.

Maintains and updates the purchase order system as shipments are received, cancelled or back ordered.

Processes inventory paperwork. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.

Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities:

• Receives and resolves escalated issues from less experienced team members

• Provides input to management, production counterparts and Production Control in case of part shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions

• May provide guidance to less experienced team members

• Interacts with all shipping areas including external carriers to addresses process issues and identifies opportunities for improvement

• Responsible for international shipments and the required paperwork

• Acts as a team member on special projects

• Utilizes pallet jack or fork-lift to move raw materials or boxes for shipment

• Handles parts with or without material handling equipment, requiring safety and delicate handling procedures

• Ensures all systems sent to teardown are properly routed and transacted

• Expedites material through the receiving and incoming inspection process to ensure availability for production

• Ensures all materials transactions are completed accurately in systems

• Ensures proper routing through the non-conforming material process flow

• Validates returns and sets up systems correctly, in regard to basic requirements

• Schedules and conducts cycle counts for assigned stockrooms

• Expedites parts to remedy shortage problems

• Conducts physical counts of reported inventory inaccuracies

Must Haves:

• 1-2 years of experience or related experience***

• Must have own transportation

• Strong knowledge of inventory management

• Knowledge of inventory control software tools and be able to apply those tools

• Understanding of carrier shipping applications

• Proficiency in shipping applications (FEDEX, UPS, etc.)

• Proficiency in use of compliance software to create international compliance documentation for shipping orders overseas

• Proficiency in the use of compliance website and related applications which correspond with the open -box audit procedures

• Good inventory control, materials and/or procurement knowledge

• Good customer service and communication skills

• Knowledge of financial processes, practices and related accounting systems
