Join us in creating a cleaner tomorrow, today.Summary:The Technical Business Development Director will lead Powin initiatives related to 3rd party Market Research and Independent Engineering firm outreach, relationship building and completing the consistent feedback loop associated with those relationships. This role requires a deep understanding of how our customers and their lenders/equity partners view technical and financial risk associated with supplier approvals. It is also important for this role to have a deep understanding of how Independent Engineering firms (IE) conduct their research and generate their reports. The Technical Business Development Director will focus on competitive positioning and relationship management at the executive and senior levels at these indirect customers, establishing Powin as a trusted partner in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) industry.Job Duties:Provide in-house expertise and insights on technical/financial bankability and independent engineering and to best position Powin within that realm of advisorsIdentify, cultivate and maintain relationships with all leading Market Research Firms, Independent Engineering Firms, Owners Engineers, and 3rd party technical evaluators relevant in the ESS industryProvide regular updates related to latest and greatest product, technology and project operations to each Market Research and 3rd Party Evaluation CompanyProject and program manage the engagement with the selected firms to publish Technology Bankability Reports. Own the strategy and narrative when negotiating the final content of the reportsLeverage insights from leadership and functional area expertise reporting such as supply chain, product/engineering and projects to inform customer responses and participate in calls with these 3rd party evaluatorsBuild strong support with decision-makers and inform Powin’s leadership of customer needsSupport the sales leads in talking about Powin’s 3rd party technical evaluation profile with customersSupport the channel partnerships team when speaking with banks and financiers about technical evaluationsProvide feedback to product and service leaders for future development and improvements based on customer and IE insightsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or related field required; MBA Preferred8+ years of combined experience in Independent Engineering, Technical Bankability Review, ESS and/or Renewable industry preferredProject Management - Exceptional at driving key initiatives to successful outcomes in a fast-paced environmentProficient in project financing and risk analysis related to vendor selection in the ESS spaceProficient in standards and codes within the ESS industryStrong knowledge base about the competitor product and project performance landscapeClear, concise verbal and written communicationStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholdersStrong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilitiesCommercially minded, with an ability to see the business goal and drive attainmentAbility to undertake occasional Domestic and International travelPowin is not accepting resumes from unsolicited headhunters or agencies at this time.EEO STATEMENT: The Company is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices and laws. The national Average Base Salary Range is $144,000 - $201,000. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and personal performance.
