This role is also responsible for partnering with senior leaders within the Public Sector Practice to manage business development, practice development, and project delivery activities. They’ll be a member of the Public Sector Practice leadership team and may be involved in direct supervision of staff, performance management, problem resolution, task delegation, and/or client project execution. They will drive problem solving and fact finding, while working side by side with experienced team members, management, and client leadership, and will support or lead firm practice, solution, and business development initiatives.Job Duties:Delivers a full range of services that uses their educational background, experience, and organizational skills while serving BDO’s dynamic public sector client baseAssists with firm practice, solution, and business development initiativesSupports or leads task areas while coordinating closely with engagement team management and client leadership on strategy, planning, execution, status, and review processesSupports clients with key financial and budgetary, information technology, and operational transformation initiativesAdapts to a changing client environment while meeting client expectationsManages priorities and works effectively to initiate correspondence and task completion. Supports multiple efforts through flexible multi-task coordinationProvides summary recommendations to team leadership regarding assigned work streamApplies fundamental industry knowledge and standards to support client reviews, improvements, and/or implementationsCommunicates and maintains relationships with key client personnel to ensure shared understanding of business processes, operations, and functionsPrepares presentations, briefings, and actively participates in client meetings and day-to-day interactionsCommunicates with team management through effective status reporting and demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned task areas and work productsEstablishes professional rapport with clients and other organizationsEvaluates work products for technical accuracy, deliverable quality, and overall value to the clientAttends relevant training, business seminars, and/or conferences to stay current with technical skills that align with client’s needs and changes in the industrySupports recruiting efforts by identifying potential candidates and participating in interviewsSupports business development meetings and/or proposal development process with guidance from Public Sector Practice leadershipResearches industry and market trends and develops relevant presentations and materials in support of potential firm initiativesCultivates growth of existing and new businessOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:May supervise the day-to-day workload of Public Sector direct reports related to client projects, business development, and other activities, including maintaining team productivity and review of work productsEvaluates the performance of any Public Sector direct reports and assist in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional developmentDelivers periodic performance feedback and completes the annual performance evaluation for Public Sector staff as appropriateServes as a mentor / career advisor to Public Sector staff as appropriateQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:EducationBachelor’s degree, requiredExperienceSeven (7) or more years of relevant professional experience, requiredFive (5) or more years of experience conducting research and analysis, preferredTwo (2) or more years of experience with counterintelligence issues, preferredCommittee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) knowledge and/or experience, preferredLicense(s)/Certification(s)N/ASoftwareProficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), requiredPrior experience with Next Generation Trident, preferredLanguage(s)N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesActive TS/SCI with Poly security clearance, required (US Citizenship required)Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels within the client organization and in the firm Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaborate within a team environment and with a customer service focus Ability to follow instructions as directed Superior organizational skills required with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentDetail oriented with in-depth knowledge and application of English grammar and ability to proofread all written materials including proposals, pitches, presentations, etc.Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.California Range: $140,000 - $175,000Colorado Range: $140,000 - $175,000Illinois Range: $140,000 - $175,000Maryland Range: $140,000 - $175,000Minnesota Range: $140,000 - $175,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $140,000 - $175,000 Washington Range: $140,000 - $175,000Washington DC Range: $140,000 - $175,000Join us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
