Reporting to the Senior Manager, Organizational Development, and as part the People & Culture team, this individual will play a critical role in developing, delivering, and integrating various employee and organizational development programs, with a primary focus on Talent and Performance Management. This position will partner with the larger People & Culture team and the business to help cultivate an engaged, collaborative, and high-performance culture that enhances organizational capability.
The location preference for this position is our Calgary office.
What You will Be Working On
While a primary and initial focus of this position will be Talent and Performance Management, this role will work closely with the boarder Employee Experience team on initiatives related to employee engagement, organizational culture, DE&I, employee well-being, and change management.

What You will Be Working On
- Support the implementation of talent management practices at Bird by creating tools and resources to facilitate the identification, development, and placement of internal talent.
- Drive the standardization and digitalization of the company's talent review and succession planning processes. Ensure processes are aligned with business needs, fostering internal mobility, development, and talent readiness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the company's performance management process (Career Progress Check-Ins).
- Partner with the People & Culture team to develop and deliver resources that support managers in effectively executing talent and performance management strategies. Upskill managers in delivering impactful feedback and meaningful career development conversations.
- Build strong relationships with the business to understand organizational requirements and priorities and align to talent and performance management initiatives.
- Utilize data analytics to provide relevant and timely insights related to talent and performance management (high potential development, succession materialization, regrettable turnover) and utilize insights to measure program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
- Lead organizational communication efforts related to all talent and performance management programs, ensuring clarity, alignment, and engagement from all stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a related discipline. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in areas of talent management, including performance management, succession planning, talent reviews, organizational development, employee engagement, or learning and development.
- Familiarity with talent reviews, leadership development and succession planning best practices in larger organizations (500+ employees).
- Experience in utilizing talent data analytics to inform decision making and measure program effectiveness.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive working relationships with multiple groups. You are reliable and inspire trust, credibility, and influence. You are a team player and engage people on matters that affect them.
- Steller management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, follow-through, and meet deadlines. Comfort in handling change and the challenges of a dynamic business environment.
- Experience working on DE&I, employee engagement or culture transformation initiatives considered an asset.
- Familiarity with talent management systems (e.g. Workday) considered an asset.
