Procurement Overview:

The Global Procurement Function is a key enabler of the top and bottom-line performance of FMC. Our team is comprised of professionals positioned around the world to partner with business leaders to ensure our customers' expectations are exceeded, and our suppliers view FMC as a customer of choice. We are looking for the right person to help us drive our Procurement organization to the next level.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Category Manager for our Indirect team to drive the strategic sourcing of of all Indirect goods and services. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and executing global multi-year procurement strategies, overseeing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings and value creation while ensuring consistent quality across all categories.

Your role is based at the FMC tower in Philadelphia, PA where you are required to work on-site for 3 days a week. You will report to the Global Procurement and Facilities Director and are responsible for the leadership, growth, and success of a new Indirect team reporting directly to you.

Global Strategic Procurement
  • You are accountable to deliver complex, comprehensive and multi-year strategy which is symbiotic with the long term strategic growth aspirations of the company whilst simultaneously finding the most cost effective approach with a constant eye on risk management and resilience.

Talent Management

In this role you are responsible for the success and development of multiple sourcing managers.
  • You will work to provide guidance and support on the work they are conducting as well as in the management of their workload and prioritization.
  • You will be required to challenge their thought processes and identify areas for improvement and development.
  • You will work closely with them on their opportunities for growth within FMC.
  • You believe that their successes and failures are yours to share.


Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and 8+ years of experience in a global procurement role.
  • Experience in the sourcing of multiple Indirect categories e.g. MRO, Plant Services, Marketing, IT, Facilties, Consulting services and other professional services.


Must-Have Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies that deliver cost savings and improve efficiency across diverse categories.
  • Demonstrated experience managing executive internal stakeholders and senior external supply partners.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, a proven influencer and integrator.
  • Experience managing and leading a geographically dispersed team of procurement professionals with diverse category expertise.
  • Proven Leadership Experience
  • Experience in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an innovative mindset.
  • Results-oriented with strong business acumen.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.


Nice to Have Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Procurement consulting experience.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in other Procurement categories.
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement technology solutions.
  • Exposure to organizational transformation efforts.
  • International experience.
  • Additional language skills beyond English.
  • MBA and/or another relevant post graduate degree or certification.
