About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development to lead a significant fundraising campaign in support of its 2033 Vision. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing high-impact development strategies, with a focus on a $12M-$15M campaign to enhance the student experience and modernize residential infrastructure. This role requires a mission-driven professional with a proven track record in fundraising, including experience in donor stewardship, engagement, and the ability to make substantial asks. The Executive Director will work closely with the Chief Public Affairs and Development Officer and the President, and will be a core leader of the Advancement Team, overseeing a Major Gift Officer and other support staff. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a minimum of 7 years' of multifaceted fundraising experience, with a preference for at least 3 years' in an educational environment. A Master's degree is strongly preferred, and a Bachelor's degree is required. The role demands a leader with strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, who can develop persuasive storytelling strategies to convey the organization's mission and impact. The ideal candidate will have a broad and deep knowledge of philanthropy programs and practices, and a strong moral compass in upholding ethical standards. Responsibilities also include providing strategic direction for a campaign steering committee, identifying and soliciting major gift prospects, and ensuring high standards of philanthropy in all activities.
