About the RoleWe are looking for a Fullstack Staff Software Engineer to help lead Home pod initiatives. This team’s goals center around increasing billable activities in users by offering flexible, personalized activity variety on the Home screen and the explorable Library. You will be part of a team responsible for shipping highly effective, engaging, and easy-to-use features for these screens. You’ll work closely with design and product teammates to help author the strategic roadmap, create and prioritize a backlog of ready work, and seek and destroy blockers to daily progress to help Home maintain laser focus on its goals. Fullstack engineers contribute to their team’s success by building and extending secure, scalable services and exposing clear, well-tested APIs that power beautiful client applications. They also add seamless and practical features to Hinge Health applications. Fullstack engineers design and implement end-to-end solutions, profile their systems to stay out ahead of scaling bottlenecks, and help maintain a high bar with thoughtful and constructive code reviews. Staff software engineers collaborate with teammates to tackle the hardest features in a sprint and deliver foundational architecture improvements in small, safe patches. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative, cross functional environment.We enjoy a continuous deployment DevOps culture, and take owner-operator pride in supporting our code in production. Our production systems rely on React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Docker, Rails, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days/week.Basic Qualifications8+ years of non-internship full time professional software development experience4+ years of experience in frontend development2+ years of experience with React Native mobile development2+ years of experience in designing and working in microservice based architecture, developing APIs and implementing scalable backend systems2+ years of experience in debugging complex issues, designing new features, or improving existing systems2+ years of experience in mentoring and leading junior team members, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, and contributing to project planning and decision-makingPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree8+ years of software engineering experience focused on fullstack development 4+ years of experience in TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Node.js, relational (e.g., SQL) databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Redis and workflow trunk-based CI/CDExperience with breaking up a monolithic application/services into microservicesCompensationThis position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. Please note the annual salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
