This role is crucial in supporting the company's project management and construction efforts by establishing strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals and project requirements.Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.Evaluate vendor performance and financial ratings to ensure reliability and risk management.Manage procurement procedures and policies to enhance operational efficiency.Coordinate with project managers and sales representatives to streamline purchasing processes and support project needs.Oversee the preparation and issuance of purchase orders, ensuring contractual accuracy and compliance with specifications.Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to meet project demands while minimizing costs.Lead a team of procurement staff, providing direction and support for professional development.Facilitate communication between accounts payable and suppliers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.Engage in corporate social responsibility initiatives by considering ethical sourcing practices.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Civil Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing management, preferably in heavy civil construction.Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.Proficient in procurement software and tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to manage a team effectively.Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners.Ability to analyze financial ratings and assess risk factors associated with vendors and subcontractors.Understanding of construction management processes and supply chain dynamics.Proven decision-making and conflict resolution skills with a strategic mindset.BenefitsVacation/PTOMedical/Dental/Vision401kBonusRelocationFor this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
