The Commodity Manager is responsible for managing existing supplier relationships; identifying and developing new suppliers as needed to support the business requirements. The Commodity Manager is also responsible for improving and maintain cost, quality and delivery KPI's of assigned suppliers at acceptable levels. Provide support and give guidance to internal customers (RDC, R D, Purchasing, Plants, etc.). Will be responsible for development and execution of category sourcing strategies.

How You Will Help:

  • Manage, Build and Strengthen respective supplier relationships and be the primary point of contact for communication with suppliers on any sourcing matters, such as business query, project follow-up, and price adjustment. Resolve disputes and promote mutual trust and understanding.
  • Lead negotiations, develop and implement Master Supply Agreements with key suppliers.
  • Support and respond to requests from internal customers, such as Sales Marketing, Product Management, Procurement, R D and the Planning department.
  • Develop and execute action plans in accordance to sourcing strategies with suppliers on Material Cost Take Out and Working Capital Improvement. Manage and execute sourcing strategies in support of the business' short- and long-term goals.
  • Manage and lead projects based on Company's and department's strategic objectives and goals.
  • Monitor current market conditions, technology advancement and identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Analyze current spend and purchase trends. Search, identify and qualify new potential suppliers on a global basis for developing new products or replacing current suppliers to always maintain a competitive supplier pool.
  • Develop and manage RFQs to suppliers. Perform comparison and analysis on received quotation packages, and present data and recommendations for management's supplier selection and project awarding.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for contracts and agreements on pricing, tooling ownership, exclusivity and payment terms and conditions.
  • Participate in new product development projects by coordinating all sourcing and supplier qualification activities on a global basis.
  • Manage multiple projects, coordinating activities of team and establish project timelines, track progress and maintain schedules.
  • Develop category/product knowledge across company divisions.


What You will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 - 7 years of progressive work-related experience in a Sourcing, Procurement or Purchasing role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word Data Base Queries
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Domestic International travel required


What You Will Bring:

  • Training: Certification from recognized purchasing, supply chain or procurement organization a plus. Experience in same or similar industry also a plus
  • Language Skills: Multilingual or bilingual a plus
  • Reasoning Ability: Must be able to perform complex analysis negotiations
