Description

The Quality Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing will:

  • Conduct customer contract and specification reviews to ensure compliance with national and international standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ANSI, AWS, ISO, DIN).
  • Perform Quality Assurance reviews of customer documentation for NQA-1 and QAR projects.
  • Develop, review, and approve Quality Assurance documentation for NQA-1 and QAR projects.
  • Plan, execute, and document supplier audits and CGD surveys, including legacy systems, to meet contractual and compliance requirements.
  • Perform NQA-1 audits and CGD surveys at vendor sites as needed, with occasional travel.
  • Issue and manage corrective action reports, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Maintain and update ISO 9001 and NQA-1 manuals, procedures, operating instructions, and related forms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to address quality-related concerns and ensure project alignment.
  • Support Quality Manager in addressing general Quality Assurance issues and inquiries.
  • Assist in expanding the NQA-1 Approved Supplier List (ASL) through audits and evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and specifications for all projects and quality initiatives.
  • Facilitate compliance with contractual requirements through proactive quality planning and execution.

Profile

  • Five or more years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably in a detail-oriented, compliance-focused environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize projects and work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply knowledge, reasoning, and common sense to carry out complex job functions effectively.
  • Experience with conducting vendor site audits, including mobility between office, production floor, and vendor locations.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical documents, standards, and specifications.
  • Fine motor skills and the ability to perform repetitive tasks as required.
  • Capability to focus and maintain attention to detail over extended periods.
  • Proficient in comprehending and applying quality standards, reasoning, decision-making, and organizational tasks.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Strong math and analytical skills for quality-related assessments and reporting.
  • Comfortable working in environments that require sitting for extended periods while maintaining productivity.
