Director, Swedish Hospital Corporate and Foundation Relations

The Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations will serve as a primary, community-facing major gift officer to identify, cultivate, and secure philanthropic support for Swedish Hospital Foundation. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the entire Foundation team; and build solid relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. The position will proactively manage and grow corporate and foundation frontline support with local/regional/national foundations and government entities that support healthcare and align with Swedish Hospital's mission and vision. The position will develop proposals and grant requests for dedicated philanthropic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in building and advancing a Foundation and Corporate Relations program.

  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm


What you will do:
  • Conducts broad based and specific prospect research of private foundations and corporate giving programs, and government entities that match the mission and specific programs of the Hospital.
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director and Director of Development, develops grant proposals and conducts follow-up accordingly.
  • Maintains filing and reporting systems related to grant funding.
  • Keeps abreast of foundation and corporate activities and annual fund tactics by reviewing relevant publications and resources.
  • Researches individual prospects as needed.
  • Manages the internal grant funding process, using endowment interest to award project-specific grants to hospital departments.
  • Assists with and attends all special events, as required.
  • Assists with the production of the Foundation's marketing message, especially as it relates to announcements/articles of foundation/corporate support and the annual fund.
  • Other special projects and support for Swedish Hospital Foundation.


What you will need:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, required
  • Certification: n/a
  • Experience: 5+ years of development experience
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
    • Strong emphasis on government grant writing, donor research
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Raiser's Edge, Outlook, Excel
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Organizational/time management skills
    • Ability to handle confidential material
    • Ability to take initiative, handle multiple projects simultaneously, achieve goals and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work in both a hands-on, flexible, team environment and independently
