Join us at Kommissary as our Human Resources Director, where you will spearhead the creation, development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and services. You'll oversee a range of HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, staff engagement and development, benefits administration, performance evaluation, compensation, and training. Success in the Role:

Onboarding Period:

As you step into the role of Human Resources Director at Kommissary, you will immerse yourself in our culture, policies, and operational dynamics. Through your exceptional interpersonal skills, you'll build collaborative relationships with department heads and team members, gaining insights into the current state of our human resources operations and identify areas for improvement.

Day to Day Operations Oversight:

A successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and sharp attention to detail in order to manage smooth day to day operations of the HR department. Following your introductory period, you'll manage our HR team and assume responsibility for the following:

  • Payroll supervision (currently using Paylocity)
  • Benefits administration
  • Recruitment
  • Compensation analysis
  • Personnel recordkeeping
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Managerial support
  • HR-related employee training
  • Employee relations
  • Professional development programs
  • Mediation
  • Retention Programs
  • Terminations & Exit Interviews
HR Department Development

Over the course of your first year, your success will be measured by your impact on our human resource department's performance. Specific KPI's may include employee retention and time to hire.

An exceptional candidate will demonstrate a bias towards innovation and improvement, because the HR Director will constantly evolve our departments' processes and performance. You will take the initiative to propose projects to drive these improvements, and collaborate with your colleagues to execute them in a timely manner.

Requirements

Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • HRCI or SHRM Certification.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a human resources leadership role.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a human resources generalist role.
  • Experience overseeing payroll function (currently utilize Paylocity).
  • Computer literacy, Google Suite, and familiarity with standard ATS and HRIS.
Nice to Have
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Additional languages are helpful.
  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Mediation Certification.
  • Background in social work or criminal justice.
  • Prior experience working in hospitality.

Physical Demands: Generally, presents standard office environment, with occasional visit to our other sites, including the kitchen, warehouse, and dining areas. Must be able to remain in a stationary position >75% of the time. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. Will occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The person in this position frequently communicates with other people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Compensation:

$110,000.00-$150,000.00/Annual salary commensurate with experience
