About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic leader, ensuring the long-term fiscal sustainability of the institution. The CFO will be responsible for guiding the finance and accounting teams, managing cash flow, and producing accurate financial statements. This role also involves leading the integration of technology systems for fiscal management, serving as the lead for shared services engagement, and exercising stewardship over the institution's resources. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a related field, a minimum of 10 years' of experience in financial and administrative leadership, and a strong background in GAAP and financial reporting. Experience in higher education business and fiscal management is preferred. The CFO will be expected to design and execute a financial strategy that aligns with the institution's mission and strategic plan, lead the development of business and fiscal policies, and ensure the university's budget is balanced. The role requires a collaborative leader with a proven track record in policy formation, strategic financial planning, and a commitment to creating a culture of excellence and accountability. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, team development, and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. Experience within the Pennsylvania System of Higher Education is also desirable. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, continuously assessing and improving financial and administrative policies to support the needs of the HBCU community.
