A Snapshot of Your Day
The candidate will be accountable to lead improvement projects from the identification of an opportunity through the sustainment phase, resolving process related concerns that impact our manufacturing environment.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Evaluate current manufacturing practices and identify improvement potential, capture cost savings, and perform project management duties
  • Connect with people at all levels of our organization
  • Train coworkers on Lean Principles during project execution and or 5S activities
  • Develop ways to analyze data and provide summary analysis to internal customers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to schedule timing for improvement activities, occasional travel may be required
  • Demonstrate dedication to excellence through continual learning
What You Bring
  • BS in Industrial Engineering or related discipline, advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to apply Industrial Engineering techniques and business acumen when partnering with cross functional teams - Managers, Engineers, Professionals & Shop Floor employees
  • Proficiency in research, improvement, and implementation of projects that positively impact our Safety & Quality culture, schedule performance, and lower cost with the technical aptitude to understand the design of our products, how features impact design for manufacturability, material selection, and product cost
  • Proficiency in problem solving techniques (5-why, Fish Bone, A3, etc.) and MS Office, Visio to document process flow, & Excel tools such as pivot tables preferred
  • SAP experience is desired with a proven track record to evaluate drawings and component features; used when calculating the financial impact on Design for Manufacturability
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
About the Team
We play a crucial role in ensuring that products and processes meet high standards of quality and compliance. We ensure the implementation of the IMS (Integrated Management System) is effective in all departments in Fort Payne plant. We investigate quality nonconformances and implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence and improve processes. We conduct inspections and tests for raw materials as well as in-process and finished parts. We collect and analyze data and supervise critical process variables. We maintain quality records of our products.

The Candidate will work closely with the Productivity & Improvement Project Team for the LGN division. This team facilitates and leads projects across LGN (Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Fort Payne, etc.) campuses to implement effective, lasting change. Improvement Team members are problem solvers, project managers, educational leaders, continuous improvement experts, transformation catalysis, digitalization enthusiasts, and coaches to management and shop floor employees alike.
