The ideal Human Resources Generalist candidate will oversee the administration and execution of organizational compliance, policy management, employee relations, and reporting and data analytics for the HR team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Participates in the development of Human Resources objectives and systems, including gathering data and compiling standard reports for agency requirements
- Supports and ensures compliance with onboarding and offboarding operations
- Assist with the administration of the employee benefits program, serves as liaison between third party administrator and agency and assists employees with new enrollments and changes of benefits
- Provides direction and guidance on employee related issues
- Supports the implementation and evaluation of processes for performance appraisals and compensation processes to ensure pay equity and equality
- Develops, maintains and disseminates employee handbook and regularly reviews and updates organizational policies and practices
- Monitors and administers leaves of absences and returns to work under FMLA, ADA/ADAA, STD/LTD and Workers' Compensation
- Participates in budgeting for the Human Resources Department in compliance with the prescribed requirements and guidance of the Finance Department
- Suggests new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the Human Resources Department and Project Harmony
Qualifications
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree required in human resources, business administration, public administration, or related field
- Training and experience in HRIS/HRMS-including records management, ATS/recruitment, benefits administration, performance and LMS
- Human Resources certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, etc.) preferred
- Five plus (5+) years of Human Resources Generalist experience
- Experience with non-profit agencies a plus
- Solid knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including benefits administration, compliance, compensation practices, organizational culture (DEI), employee relations, performance management, and time & labor
- Expertise in attracting, coaching, developing, and retaining a diverse, high-performing organization
- Proven experience implementing innovative and strategic initiatives related to organizational culture and development
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational, time management and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and active listening)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as SharePoint
- Self-starter with ability to set priorities and work independently
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidence, and work ethic
- Must respect and maintain confidentiality
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check
- Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state
