The Role
As an Engagement Manager at Valence, you'll be at the heart of our mission to revolutionize leadership development. You'll work hand-in-hand with our team to deploy our AI-powered coaching solutions to industry giants like Coca-Cola, Nestle, and AstraZeneca. This isn't just about implementation - it's about forging relationships, driving strategic initiatives, and directly influencing the evolution of our product.

If candidates are based in NYC or Toronto they can work hybrid in our offices, otherwise this role can be remote. Candidates must be comfortable working with colleagues in different time zones (UK), and have valid travel documents without work authorization restrictions in the US.

What You'll Do
- Own the successful deployment of our tools (gen AI) within Fortune 500 enterprise clients.
- Meet/exceed financial and strategic business targets related to held accounts.
- Build and manage strategic client relationships across all levels of leadership.
- Embed deeply in clients from a relationship and programmatic perspective, with strong use cases.
- Expand our footprint within a client, with usage and revenue increases YoY.
- Execute a consultative methodology to drive client behavior change against priorities.
- Collaborate on the presale processes, including piloting, alongside the Sales team.
- Lead contract renewal processes, with support from the VP of Sales on negotiations.
- Manage the contracting and invoicing processes alongside our operations team.
- Contribute to product improvements leveraging deep understanding of client needs.
- Identify new opportunities to expand our platform's impact at our existing clients
- Expanding knowledge of machine learning, trust & ethics in AI, successful integration and our clients' industries in general. This is an evolving space.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of professional experience in Investment Banking or Consulting. Track record of client servicing excellence and high quality delivery for complex senior clients.
- Relationship building. Experience building strategic relationships that drive change according to shared priorities.
- High-velocity execution. Rapidly translate ideas and strategies into the right outcomes, adapting to changing circumstances with agility.
- Problem-solving mindset. Ability to diagnose a variety of problems, break them down into manageable pieces, and put them back together in an impactful way.
- Strong collaboration. Proven ability to collaborate with busy leaders at all levels, including the C-Suite, to drive initiatives forward.
- Strong organizational abilities. Proven ability to keep the moving parts of many workstreams on track; natural attention to the small details that make for great experiences.
- Exceptional communication skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adjust styles to the audience.
- Analytical abilities. Comfort with data (Excel) to organize information in a value-added way.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient. Highly motivated and self-driven, with a strong desire to exceed expectations. A natural sense of urgency and not easily deterred by roadblocks.
- Growth mindset. Willingness to embrace challenges, experiment and continuously learn through high-quality feedback and new workstreams.
- Passion for our size and stage. Clear motivations for wanting to join an Series A startup focused on generative AI, LLMs and ML and also the topic of Learning and Development, Teams.
