Benefits Specialist

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all areas of benefits administration, including health and wellness programs, retirement plans, leave of absence management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is essential in ensuring our employees receive the best possible benefits and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental and vision plans, life insurance, and disability coverage.
- Oversee retirement plans, including 401(k) and pension plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, parental leave, and other types of leave, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
- Conduct benefits orientation and provide ongoing education to employees about their benefits options and enrollment processes.
- Collaborate with benefits providers and brokers to negotiate plan options and renewals.
- Handle employee inquiries and resolve issues related to benefits, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all benefits-related transactions and documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
- Prepare and distribute benefits communications, including plan summaries, enrollment guides, and annual notices.
- Analyze benefits data and trends to make recommendations for plan improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Benefits Specialist or in a similar role, with a comprehensive understanding of benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance plans, retirement plans, leave of absence management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software (e.g., WorkDay, ADP, SAP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
