Advanced Practice Provider - General Internal Medicine Same Day Access ClinicianDartmouth Hitchcock Medical CenterPosition ObjectiveThe ideal candidate will be comfortable and experienced in providing acute, preventative, and chronic care to adult patients in a general internal medicine clinic. In addition, they will be comfortable cross-covering other clinicians patient panels when the primary clinician is unavailable.Performance Expectation
- Provide Face-to-Face services (or Telehealth as appropriate) for patients in General Internal Medicine.
- Provide in-basket coverage for providers out of the clinic requiring coverage for their absence.
- Receive the assignment of a list of providers needing coverage during scheduled shifts.
- Team with nursing and other clinical staff to prioritize, review, act upon, and close messages received via the Results, RX Requests, Patient Calls, Staff Messages, and Patient Portal Advice Requests categories in the assigned providers inbox.
- Be on-site and available to nursing staff to address urgent triage needs, mainly as they apply to requests for same-day appointments.
- Evaluate all assigned adult patients presenting to the GIM 3M clinic.
- Obtain an appropriate history and physical exam.
- Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and imaging studies.
- Provide appropriate treatment to all assigned patients presenting to GIM
- Obtain consultation as clinically indicated and appropriate.
- Document the history, physical exam, laboratory and imaging studies, and treatment in the medical record.
- Provide consulting providers with complete and accurate medical records. Communicate in a timely and collegial manner.
- Review previously ordered laboratory and imaging studies and determine the appropriate course of treatment for the patient based on the results. Communicate results to patients promptly.
- Document all communication with patients.
- Treat all patients and staff with respect.
- Participate in staff education and clinical Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities.
- Attend clinic staff meetings.
- Abide by the DHMC Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and policies.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
- National specialty certification
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRN only)
- Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH
- Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
- BLS certification
