Description of Work
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as lead contracts consultant, manager and monitor for all healthcare related contracts and agreements. This position will be assigned within the Comprehensive Health Care Services Division's business office and will report to the business manager. It will be the responsibility of this position to play a major role in the creation of new contracts, edit/update existing agreements, interface with both internal and external customers to determine contract requirements. This position will serve as liaison to DAC purchasing and logistics, DAC IT and the DAC claims processing vendor.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with **Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this job.**

Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. The team of physicians, nurses, behavioral health services, dental services, psychiatric services, pharmacy services, and licensed healthcare administration services work together to provide emergent, acute, routine, and chronic health care, as well as preventive medicine at all prison facilities. They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and well-being towards a safe transition from prison, improving public health, and decreasing recidivism.
