SiemensHealthineers Company, Endovascular Robotics (EVR) division, is a globaltechnology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions. The company'sCorPath® system is the first FDA-cleared medical device to bringrobotic-assisted precision to neurovascular, percutaneous coronary andperipheral interventions. EVR is advancing the field of interventional medicinewith robotics through improvements to procedural control, precision, andworkflow.

Position Summary:

The Senior Fixture Design Engineer II will be a part of theR&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of thenext generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare. Youwill be a highly visible technical resource working on the transition ofcomplex electro-mechanical assemblies from early prototypes to verificationtesting and pilot builds, in close collaboration with manufacturingengineering. This role is suited for an R&D engineer with experience in developingbuild and test fixtures for complex electro-mechanical medical devices anddisposables. A broad knowledge of mechanical design, DFA/DFM, including design verificationtesting, process validation, and transfer to manufacturing within a regulated medicaldevice development environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Being a key team memberworking on design readiness of the robotic system
  • Develop assembly andtest fixtures for complex electromechanical sub-systems
  • Support development ofassembly and test processes for capital equipment and disposables
  • Develop fixtures and nestsfor component inspection
  • Support developmentand maintenance of the BOM and DMR
  • Author relevantdocuments such as build process, assembly instructions, inspection procedures, testprotocols, test reports, analyses, and system documentation
  • Support a variety of multi-disciplinarytechnical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes
  • Support creation of DMRand release of documentation to quality system
  • Manage and communicateassigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams


Qualifications:
  • 8+ years electromechanical R&D engineeringexperience, at least 5 years in medical device required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Robotics/AdvancedManufacturing Engineering is required
  • Must have strong Solidworks/PDM proficiency
  • Deep understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing),DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFT (Design for testing) required.
  • Experience in the design of tooling for medical deviceassembly in a clean room environment (CME) is required
  • Experience in managing engineering projects desired
  • Expertise with electromechanical systems is highlydesired
  • Experience in instrumentation using LabVIEW andSimulink is desired
  • Must have previous experience in design transfer/newproduct introduction
  • Experience in off-the shelf component selection forregulated industries highly desired
  • Experience with statistical tools and software such asMinitab and MATLAB desired
  • Able to execute assigned projects and duties withminimal supervision
  • Outstanding documentation and communication skillsrequired
  • Proficiency in using MS Office required
