We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting the Controller in maintaining the company's financial health. *This position is on-site at our Headquarters in San Clemente, California M-F.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Manage and coordinate external audits
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
- Assist with the business processes transformation and new ERP system
- Supervise accounting staff and provide mentorship
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Oversee multi-state Sales and Use Tax compliance and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA certification and or MBA preferred
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with manufacturing cost accounting
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Advanced expertise in accounting software and ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with financial reporting tools
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
