We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting the Controller in maintaining the company's financial health. *This position is on-site at our Headquarters in San Clemente, California M-F.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processesOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsPrepare and analyze financial statements and reportsManage and coordinate external auditsDevelop and maintain internal controls and accounting proceduresAssist with the business processes transformation and new ERP systemSupervise accounting staff and provide mentorshipMonitor cash flow and assist with cash managementCoordinate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reportingSupport budgeting and forecasting processesEnsure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirementsOversee multi-state Sales and Use Tax compliance and reportingRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experienceCPA certification and or MBA preferredAdvanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsExperience with manufacturing cost accountingStrong proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelExperience with financial modeling and analysisDemonstrated leadership and team management skillsSkills & Qualities
Advanced expertise in accounting software and ERP systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExperience with financial reporting toolsKnowledge of internal control frameworksStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and accuracyOutstanding organizational and time management skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong leadership and mentoring capabilities
