As the Senior Manager of the Insurance Operations team, you will own the day-to-day and long-term operational success of the health insurance and life and leave benefit operations at Justworks. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally as this role will partner with colleagues in Sales, Payments, Customer Success, Engineering, Product, Legal, and Finance.
Your Success Profile
What You Will Work On
  • Manage, lead, and develop the dynamic teams that are responsible for work across Justworks that provides new and existing customers with an incredible experience interacting with our suite of MDV-related insurance and life and leave insurance products
  • Oversee day-to-day and long-term projects of the teams' operations including:
    • Establish and improve KPIs with internal customers to improve issue resolution times, accuracy, and satisfaction
    • Manage insurance carrier and provider relationships including, but not limited, to contract negotiations/renewals, SLA maintenance, and implementation of new products and services
    • Annual renewals of certain insurance products including but not limited to COBRA, Life and Leave, and HSA/FSA
    • Approving timecards and PTO
  • Handle general management responsibilities including (but not limited to):
    • Fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment by supporting team members in identifying areas of improvement and creating tailored development plans for each employee.Providing regular feedback and conducting timely performance reviews
    • Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of the team's work
    • Holding regular 1-on-1s and leading team meetings
    • Developing and overseeing hiring, retention, succession planning, and promotion strategies for all members in the team
  • In conjunction with Legal and Compliance, ensure Justworks' compliance with ERISA, ACA, State requirements, and all other pertinent regulation
  • Partner with our Product and Engineering teams to improve systems, diagnose bugs, and deploy solutions that drive operational efficiencies and create internal and external customer delight
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years experience managing, developing, and scaling operational teams with some experience in a high growth, technical or start-up environment
  • Strong track record of developing and engaging direct reports
  • Knowledge of Insurance (Health & Welfare and/or Property & Casualty) a plus, but not required
  • Project management experience related to systems/vendor implementation and/or process improvement
  • Proven strategic agility, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, continuously-evolving environment
  • Intellectual curiosity, a strong growth-mindset, and the desire to constantly improve
  • SQL and Excel knowledge a plus

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $155,500.00 - $178,825.00.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
