YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
Provides strategic direction and leadership for Quality, Safety, Health and Environment within Brenntag Nutrition.
Job Description:
General:
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Lead and facilitate a work environment supporting a safe and healthy culture.
- Lead and conduct audits to ensure Brenntag Nutrition HSE Audits for a representative group of facilities are completed each year.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees and supervisors on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
- Follow direction and support company management.
- Plan, execute, measure, and follow-up on all areas.
- Other responsibilities as designated by management.
Safety & Health:
- Develop and implement plans to improve safety management in Brenntag Nutrition.
- Participant in Brenntag North America Safety Task Group.
- Investigate, monitor, and report on safety metrics for Brenntag Nutrition. (Personal injuries, transportation accidents, DOT violations, spills, etc.)
- Report significant accidents/spills to executive management.
- Collaborate, facilitate, and follow up on all corrective actions with local management teams.
- Coordinate Managing Safety Performance Training Program.
- Responsible for all OSHA / DOT / Hazmat compliance
Emergency Response:
- Oversee the implementation of Crisis Communications training.
Environmental:
- Oversee/manage all environmental projects in Brenntag Nutrition.
- Immediately notify management of changes which could impact environmental reserves or cash flow.
- Obtain management approval prior to authorizing money to be spent on projects.
Regulatory:
- Participate in Brenntag North America Regulatory Task Group.
- Review new regulations to determine if regional coordination would be beneficial.
- Send a summary of the new regulations to the facilities impacted noting key issues.
- Develop guidance documents and implementation plans for new regulations.
- Monitor regulatory compliance history for Brenntag Nutrition.
- Review government inspection reports from Brenntag Nutrition facilities and alert other companies of visits and findings.
- Assist facilities with addressing any potential governmental violations.
Quality:
- Oversight of JOB 7 processes.
- Ensure that JOB 7 is active and making progress in each ROC.
- Work to eliminate Misloads.
- Identify key issues needing to be addressed regionally and implement.
- Identify and work with facilities to implement improvement concepts with JOB 7, BUS and 3'd party programs.
Product Stewardship:
- Serve as the company's operational/safety representative for NACD and other organizations to support our HSE goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and ensure implementation of the NACD Responsible Distribution Process in the US.
- Develop and implement procedures to reduce risk in the handling and selling of chemicals. (Know Your Customer).
- Oversee the implementation of new products into the organization.
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A)from four-year College or University and at least 5 years relatedexperience/training.
