About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Vice President for Foundations to oversee the operational and administrative support activities of its philanthropic entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations and financial management of the Foundations, ensuring the internal support of the Development function is in line with the appropriate strategies and operational controls. This role involves providing leadership and oversight to maintain the financial strength and operating efficiency of the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement office and the Foundations. The CFO/AVP will also be tasked with developing and administering policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with best practices and laws, and engaging with the Foundations' board to develop and represent the organization to financial partners. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years' financial management experience, preferably in a philanthropic setting. An advanced degree and CPA are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit finance and philanthropy, with experience in non-profit audit and/or accounting, and a proven track record of managing a team in non-profit operations and financial management. Knowledge of non-profit tax laws, best practices, and experience with fundraising database management systems is essential. The role requires a talented leader with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, who is detail-oriented and capable of maintaining confidentiality. The CFO/AVP will be expected to be a strategic partner, capable of making actionable recommendations to senior leadership, and to ensure the Foundations' financial and operational strategies align with the mission and values of the organization.
