The Assistant Controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting including overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department in their production of accurate periodic, quarterly, and annual financial statements. With a solid understanding of GAAP Accounting, this integral manager maintains and implements necessary controls in operations, policies, and processes for optimal efficiency and risk avoidance for the company.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accounting and review of period financials for multiple locations.
- Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status.
- Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
- Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises management of actions and potential risks.
- Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
- Prepares work papers and oversees compliance of government tax/municipal filings and reporting.
- Prepares work papers and produces the journal entry(ies) for periodic payrolls.
- Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.
Accountabilities:
- Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Manages budget and controls expenses effectively.
- Assists with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization.

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 10 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP Accounting Software
