Corporate Governance, Sr Paralegal

The Opportunity:

The individual in this position is responsible for overseeing ACA's internal corporate governance programs and processes. This includes the oversight of the company's (1) corporate policies and procedures; (2) corporate filings and books and records; (3) intellectual property roster; (4) insurance policies; (5) legal service of process strategies and litigation tracking; and (6) other corporate tasks as assigned. The individual in this position is also responsible for preserving ACA's reputation for integrity and providing timely, pragmatic legal and business solutions that support ACA in an effective and compliant manner. The ideal candidate will reside in Portland, ME, NYC, or Pittsburgh, PA.

What you'll do:
  • Serve as a leader of ACA's corporate governance program
  • Become a subject matter expert with respect to ACA corporate policies, procedures, and controls
  • Develop, implement, and oversee such policies and procedures
  • Oversee the management of all of ACA's corporate books, records, and filings
  • Maintain ACA's intellectual property roster and manage new trademark applications
  • Serve as liaison between insurance brokers and ACA management team
  • Manage ACA's legal service process strategies and monitor ongoing litigation
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding corporate governance
  • Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives
To qualify for the role you must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Four to six years of corporate governance experience

Ideally, you'll also have:
  • Prior law firm or corporate paralegal experience.
