Developing ground breaking software techniques, AMT takes the media experience to the next level. We are looking for a hardworking software quality engineer with a strong technical background and understanding of different network topologies, video, and audio technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and conducting Performance tests and building automated testing for the aforementioned features on all Apple supported platforms. Work and contribute towards quality engineering / QA of Real-time Communication technologies in the Audio Media Technology (AMT) at Apple and build test automation to qualify audio and video quality in complex scenarios emulating real world network traffic types. The Real-time Communication team provides the networking and media frameworks for Group FaceTime, FaceTime, Phone Continuity, HomeKit IP Cameras, WiFi-Calling / VoLTE, RTT, Sidecar, AirPlay 4K HDR and much more.DescriptionYou will work very closely with the Real-time communications development and cross-functional teams to ensure quality is of the highest level. You will also be creating & tracking high quality bug reports, triaging issues by closely working with developers, and reporting on project progress & risk analysis. Testing will be comprised of determining details about the complex product/feature, coming up with a testing matrix, putting the testing matrix into an executable test plan. As part of the role, you will be working with many different multi-functional teams, building relationships across team, finding holes in overall test strategy. In addition, part of your testing may also require you to implement testing manually with the end goal of automating that testing. Teamwork and automated testing will be key to this role’s success. In addition to writing and maintaining a set of tests, you will also be responsible for driving fixes of many other critical performance tests run by multi-functional technology teams. At AMT sky is the limit!Minimum QualificationsB.S. in Computer ScienceProficiency in one or more computing languages like Python, Java or C/C++Preferred Qualifications2-5 years of industry experience, particularly in driving testing of large complex projectsExperience testing Video/Audio codecs is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work accordinglyPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,300 and $195,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
