Our client, a Health Center providing affordable healthcare to the underserved and vulnerable in New York City, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to families as well as engage in health promotion activities.
- Provide care to a panel of adult patients on a continuing basis
- Evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Initial assessment and management of mental health conditions
- Ordering and analyzing necessary diagnostic tests using high value care principles and EBM to inform clinical decision-making
- Prescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence-based manner and within the scope of licensure
- Advising patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate preventive screenings
- Referring patients for consultant services when necessary.
- Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- A master’s degree is required
- Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program is required
- Current and valid NYS license
- DEA certificate
- BLS
- Infection control certificate
- AAHIVM certification and/or LGBT health certification is a plus.
