Location(s):United States of AmericaCity/Cities:AtlantaTravel Required:00% - 25%Relocation Provided:NoJob Posting End Date:December 3, 2024Shift:Job Description Summary: The Director of Operations and Blow Molding Technologies at the Packaging Engineering and Technology Center (PETC) will oversee and manage the operational aspects of blow molding and injection processes to ensure the production of innovative and high-quality packaging solutions. This position also holds accountability for identifying and developing innovative advancements in blow molding technologies. Collaborating closely with colleagues from the Packaging Research and Engineering (PRE) and Global Development and Innovation (GDI) organizations, the Director will drive excellence in production operations, maintain stringent safety & quality standards, and ensure cost-effective management of resources.What You’ll Do for Us:Production Operations Management: Plan, prioritize, and coordinate production operations in collaboration with key partner functions of the Packaging Research and Engineering (PRE) organization.Innovation Advancement: Identify and develop innovation advancements in blow molding technologies. Operationalize these advancements into the PETC process capabilities. Partner with GDI, OU’s, and Bottlers to implement these advancements on a commercial scale.Cross-functional CollaborationAs PETC’s Operations and Blow Molding Leader, ensure close collaboration with colleagues from the Packaging Research and Engineering (PRE) and Global Development and Innovation (GDI) organizations, as well as suppliers, to deliver groundbreaking and innovative packaging solutions that support Growth, Productivity, Sustainability, and Business Continuity objectives. Actively participate in industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay current on trends, and engage with experts to gather insights and identify opportunities for innovation.Conduct regular benchmark studies and competitive analysis to assess the technological landscape and design forward-thinking packaging solutions for the company.Operational Effectiveness: Take full responsibility for ensuring optimal operational efficiency and maximizing productivity on the PETC production floor.Quality Assurance: Ensure that produced products meet quality standards and internal/external customer requirements.Safety and Equipment Maintenance: Have full accountability for the Operational Safety of the PETC site. Ensure production equipment is in good working order and develop and implement all maintenance programs for the plant.Project Management: Lead and oversee projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring all project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.Cost Management: Manage costs and keep operational expenses within budget.Supervision: Supervise a team of production floor and packaging testing engineers.Facility Management: Have full accountability for the upkeep and proper working order of the PETC facility.Reporting: Prepare production and performance reports for senior management.Inventory Management: Manage warehouse inventories and sample rotation.Documentation and Record Keeping: Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed.Qualifications& Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in packaging operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role specifically focused on blow molding and injection technologies.Proven experience working with blow molding and injection OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), with a strong understanding of the processes, machinery, and techniques used in these manufacturing methods.Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Proficiency in production planning, cost management, and inventory control.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Strong commitment to safety and quality assurance.Skills:Pay Range:$143,000 - $173,000Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:30Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role.
