Job Role: Guidewire Business Analyst Location: New York, NY / Garden City, NY / Purchase, NY Type/Duration: Contract Job description: ROLE SUMMARY The Business Analyst for the Guidewire ClaimCenter application will support project managers and business stakeholders with User Acceptance Testing project support as well as help with other initiatives including downstream systems and reporting integrations. This resource will also be responsible for creating business and functional requirement definitions for claims processing and administration teams. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct requirement definitions for claims solutions. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their business requirements, informational needs, and data sources. Translate business needs into clearly defined, detailed business / functional requirements inclusive of business use cases, process flows, data flows, traceability matrices, as well as screen mock-ups. Provide subject matter expertise to the IT team throughout the claims processing project. Review development and test deliverables, as needed. Plan, facilitate, and conduct requirement elicitation sessions, meetings, and presentations. Collaborate with development and testing teams to provide subject matter expertise. Help troubleshoot and resolve issues when "out-of-the-box" functionality is produced. Lead review sessions for key business users, that have focus on gaining consensus and final business approval. These sessions will have the topic of business / functional requirements. Participate in the development of User Acceptance Test planning documentation; including test plans and scripts, based on business and functional requirements. Facilitate UAT execution phase and work with business stakeholders and project managers to obtain User Acceptance Test signoff. Coordinate project plans and estimate efforts, as needed. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS 7 years of proven experience in business analysis, with 3 years in Commercial Auto, Property or Workers Comp Claims. Proven experience within Insurance business, functional / reporting requirements, and conducting User Acceptance Testing for business-critical solutions in complex environments. Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter systems is required. Detailed claims processing knowledge and experience. Experience with Guidewire Policy Center is preferred. Proven hands-on experience in writing and executing MS SQL query is required. Experienced with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies, working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards. Agile methodology experience is a plus, but not required. Strong experience with claims management solutions. Experienced with iterative and agile methodologies, working knowledge of both SDLC & PMLC processes. Hands-on experience writing business requirements, functional requirements or user stories, business process diagrams, and data rules is required. Knowledge and experience in reviewing, reengineering, or developing IT solutions for business process / improvements automation. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Extensive experience in using standard project tools including Microsoft Team Foundation Server (via Visual Studio), Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Must be proficient with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio). Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus holding the ability to clearly articulate details to all project members and stakeholders. Proven track record of creating clear, concise deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of business needs and the software functionality. Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources. Candidate has a strong initiative and can self-manage responsibilities. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work through challenges to get the right things done. Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Possess personal time-management skills and can meet individual and team deadlines.
