job summary:
A Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Lafayette, IN area. This role focuses on improving large engine assembly processes through tooling design, documentation updates, and collaboration on continuous improvement initiatives.

responsibilities:

• Support New Capital Introduction (NCI) activities.
  
  
• Drive daily continuous improvement (CI) initiatives on large engine assembly processes.
  
  
• Design and implement new tooling to address assembly challenges.
  
  
• Procure assembly line parts via NexGen (training provided).
  
  
• Collaborate with Tool Shop, Central Shop, and Facility Engineering to manage job follow-ups using systems like LLumin and B-Zone (training provided).
  
  
• Write tool orders (RFE and SWO) for Facility Engineering (training provided).
  
  
• Work in a combined office and shop floor environment.
  
  
• Interact daily with team members for project collaboration.

Skills:

• Microsoft O365.
  
  
• Tool design software (CAD, Creo, Catia etc.).
