The Role
The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for executing various tasks essential to the production processes and certain engineering activities. Primary duties include operating and monitoring machinery as well as packaging products. This position will adhere to all company safety and quality standards and will work closely with other team members to meet production goals. Requires a commitment to efficiency, attention to detail, and teamwork.
External US:Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Perform all tasks associated with a grade B07 Manufacturing Technician job.
- Perform tasks related to processing and packaging specialty chemicals in a batch manufacturing process (tank inserting, tank & equipment cleaning/crossovers, tank charging, filtration setup, batch adjustments calculations, material additions, etc.)
- Operate manual and powered equipment, including pallet jacks and fork trucks.
- Accurately complete all job-related documentation, both hard copy and electronic, utilizing software like MS Office, SAP, and LIMS.
- Assist with PAG production.
- Utilize the SAP system for various functions, such as scanning transactions, electronic material movements, creating batch travelers, printing product labels, and monitoring batch consumptions.
- Maintain general housekeeping practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic English language skills, allowing for effective communication and understanding of work-related instructions and documents.
- Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages, to perform accurate calculations in the manufacturing process.
- Self-motivated and capable of efficiently managing time and tasks with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment with evolving demands.
- Competence in utilizing various computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office, SAP, CPro, LIMS, etc., for data input, verification, and interpretation.
- Ability to safely and effectively use respiratory protection equipment and other personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with job requirements.
- Proficient in the safe operation of fork trucks (both sit-down and pallet jacks) to perform various functions within the manufacturing process.
- Ability to troubleshoot process issues and conduct root cause analysis (using methods like 5Y) to address and prevent production problems.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience. Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
- Must be able to push or pull over 50 lbs. with equipment assistance.
- This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
