This position will be part of the Intermountain Division Office located in Boise, Idaho reporting to the Sales Manager or Director of the assigned department. As an Assistant Sales Manager, you will be an integral part of the team and support the Sales Manager/Director by providing strategic and tactical merchandising support for assigned categories to increase market share, sales, and profitability.

This position will be part of the Intermountain Division Office located in Boise, Idaho reporting to the Sales Manager or Director of the assigned department. As an Assistant Sales Manager, you will be an integral part of the team and support the Sales Manager/Director by providing strategic and tactical merchandising support for assigned categories to increase market share, sales, and profitability.
You Will:
- Meet with vendors as directed to analyze category performance, assortment / new items, competitive / consumer trends and identifies category development opportunities.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of the 52-week promotion calendar (including writing ads) by category to support merchandising strategies / initiatives and conducts post-promotional analysis and recommends appropriate action.
- Evaluate new items and makes recommendation to category manager.
- Conduct analysis and makes recommendation to category plan based on evaluation of past performance, consumer/competitive/company trends, and marketplace SWOT to Sales Manager.
- Monitor category sales targets and makes recommendations to Category Manager to adjust programs as needed.
- Assist with development of new products, programs, and processes to achieve and maintain industry leadership within category.
- Monitor pricing strategy/goals by category/marketplace and makes recommendations as necessary.
- Review competitive activity and recommends strategy across categories and evaluate past programming efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strong planning and organizing skills.
- Be familiar with procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problems solving skills and be experienced in taking initiative and making decisive yet appropriate decisions.
- A degree in Business, Marketing or related field or related experience.
