District: Greenville Public Schools JOB TITLE: Student Services Administrative Assistant LOCATION: Central Services Facility HOURS & CALENDAR: 40 hours per week, 230 days per year COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This position is paid in accordance with the District Support Staff Handbook. This position is eligible for benefits.
JOB SUMMARY: The Student Services Administrative Assistant will perform standard and advanced clerical and administrative assistant duties while supporting the needs of students, parents, and staff in the Special Education department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned Provide clerical support to the Director of Student Services Answer telephone calls, handle inquiries, and provide Special Education information to those who request it Administrative support to staff who work with students with disabilities Process disability subsidy support requests Organize, coordinate, and facilitate activities and communications for the Special Education department and At Risk populations Use the student information system and IEP system to ensure accurate data correspondence Problem solve data inaccuracies with ISD Order Special Education staff supplies throughout the school year Receive and process all purchase requisitions including assignment of account numbers, communications with vendors, maintenance of purchase records, and insure proper inventory of ordered materials Maintain and prepare purchase card expense reports Maintain accurate student educational files and records Generate reports using student data management systems Support pupil accounting reports and uploads (October, February, and June) Collaborate with ISD administrative assistants regarding new hires/onboarding process Assist visitors at the front desk as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with professional and support staff, the general public, and other visitors to the school district High level of organization and flexibility Strength in planning and meeting deadlines Commitment to the success of all programs in the building Friendly, creative, and resourceful Excellent professionalism and judgment Basic knowledge in accounting/finance Must be able to pass a background check with no criminal history
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree or higher preferred; will consider others with commensurate experience High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in a school setting preferred
