Fleet Operations Program Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing railcar repair activities, managing costs and forecasting expenditures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as the primary liaison between various Trinity departments and our customers.

What you'll do:

Prepare and issue repair instructions so vendor shops know what work is needed on a railroad car. Instructions will be generated based on currently in place processes and procedures Act as a liaison and solve problems that arise between repair shops, customers, engineering, accounting and other groups within Trinity Conduct monthly analysis of over 8,000 lines of invoice data to ensure accuracy, maintain cost controls, ensure consistency, and establish cost ownership, all while navigating varying contract languages Manage and optimize a monthly maintenance repair budget ranging from approximately $3 million to $5 million Analyze shop repair estimates and invoices for accuracy and potential cost savings Approve repairs and use available data tools to make decisions to decrease cost of ownership of the fleet, while maintaining optimal levels of throughput Monitor repair shops performance on cost, turnaround time, on time delivery, document accuracy, and customer service Partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best in class results

Qualifications What you'll need:

Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or Business degrees preferred 5 years' experience performing data and analytics, mechanical operations, expense auditing, billing auditing, claims adjusting, and/or financial analysis A passion for critical thinking and a commitment to personal and professional growth within Trinity Industries Basic mechanical understanding and a desire to learn railcar maintenance fundamentals Customer-focused, excellent relationship building skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization Knowledge of AAR/FRA rules and regulations pertaining to railcar repair and maintenance a plus, but not required Railroad Wreck process and billing experience preferred but not required 25-50% travel as needed
