Description
Candidate will provide support to the Finance by performing account payables assistance and/or technical accounting duties in the review, evaluation, and adjustment of assigned accounts.
Assist Accounts Payable with AP duties and acts as the backup for AP when necessary
Assist with Utilities and General Government miscellaneous Accounts Receivable billings and/or AR adjustments.
Assist with reconciling Utilities and General Government accounts receivables and accounts payables to the general ledger on a monthly basis; completes journal entries or cash receipts adjustments for necessary corrections.
Responsible for posting non-posted batches daily to the general ledger for General Government and Utilities.
Responsible for reconciling pooled cash fund to the appropriate due to/from cash fund monthly; prepares and posts any necessary journal entries and recurring entries.
Assist with accounting month-end process (updating journal entries, reconciling accounts, and completing reports)
Assist with reports for auditors during audit.
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
At least 1 year accounting experience preferred in local government, public or private industry.
Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Must possess good oral/written communication skills.
Must possess the ability to prepare and maintain various reports, as required or assigned.
Must have ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
