Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger reconciliation, budgeting and account analysis while providing accounting support and financial analysis.
Job Responsibilities Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GAAS and in compliance with county hospital legal and regulatory requirements. Generate monthly financial statements for hospital and/or physician practices and prepare monthly journal entries and accruals for assigned areas. Develop and present proformas and financial reports that provide accurate insights based on known, assumed, and projected information for improving financial performance and/or new business development. Assist managers in the preparation of their departmental budget requests and assist CFO in reviewing and analyzing those reports. Compile approved departmental budget and direct preparation of budget accountability reports to assist managers in cost control. Develop and maintain amortization schedules for debt instruments, notes receivable and other miscellaneous contracts and agreements. Develop and maintain prepaid expense schedules Update and maintain fixed assets and construction in progress schedules. Ensure all general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations related to fixed assets and construction in progress are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Prepare financial statements for other related entities and reconcile bank accounts. Analyze accounts and act as liaison with Auditors. Prepare documentation for related entities for CMS, ISDH and other agencies. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial surveys, and investment reports. Other duties as assigned. Education Requirements
Minimum: BS in Accounting, Finance, or other Business area with concentration in Accounting Experience Requirements
Minimum: Three (3) years experience in General Ledger and Budgeting Preferred: Three (3) or more years experience in Healthcare Accounting/Finance including GL, Budgeting and Analysis
License/Certification Requirements
