Title: Commissioning Manager Position Type: Contract Location: Colorado Reports to: Sr. Project Manager Status: Exempt
Key Project Requirements : • Must have prior working experience with LM2500XPRESS, or aeroderivative engines such as LM6000. • Must have 10+ years working experience Commissioning with an emphasis on a leadership role. • Knowledge in OSHA Requirements (incl. General, Lockout / Tagout, Arc Flash Hazard Requirements (NFPA 70E) and Fuel Gas Piping System Requirements (NFPA 56)).
Job Summary : PIC Group has a great opportunity for a Commissioning Manager for a 160MW gas plant located in Colorado. The Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of commissioning, startup, testing, client turnover, and initial operations to ensure project objectives are met. This includes overseeing the process from construction release, turnover, and through completion of the commissioning phase. The Commissioning Manager works closely with the Sr. Project Manager to develop and maintain a coordinated approach towards project planning and project management to ensure smooth transitions through all phases of the project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : • Lead and oversee all aspects of the site planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, quality, safety, close out and coordination of all Startup and Commissioning activities. • Instill a culture within the Project Startup and Commissioning Team, including subcontractors, which ensures commitment to outstanding community, occupational health and safety and environment performance on site. • Clearly communicate the project's vision, strategies, and objectives to the Startup and Commissioning team to ensure alignment and breakthrough performance. • Develop, manage, and maintain site startup and commissioning resources to meet the goals and objectives of the project. • Ensure all systems meet the construction completion requirement prior to handover to Startup and Commissioning.
Job Requirements : • Excellent understanding of power plant and Balance of Plant (BOP) systems design, operating and maintenance principles. • Proficiency in commissioning principles, including construction completion, pre-commissioning, verification testing, performance testing, and operator training. • Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including control system architecture, tuning, and maintenance.
Physical Requirements : • Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop, and lift (up to 75 pounds) in various work environments.
Education / Experience : • Engineering Degree/Certification (or equivalent experience including Navy, Maritime Field, Stationary Engineer) • Demonstrated successful performance as Startup and Commissioning Manager of multiple Power Projects • 10+ years Commissioning/Startup Management experience on similar projects • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Products (Access, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) • OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Training
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $80 -$90.
