To perform specialized administrative, clerical, and technical duties that support the financial operations of the assigned department. This includes processing accounts receivable/payable, maintaining accurate fiscal records, preparing reports, and conducting financial analysis under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for general accounting inquiries. Process vendor payments, invoices, purchase orders, and reimbursements. Prepare journal entries, balance ledgers, and reconcile accounts. Conduct financial analysis and prepare various reports. Maintain inventory and budget records. Collaborate with the Finance or Procurement Department on vendor setup and compliance. Provide training on accounts receivable/payable processes to internal staff. Assist in grant reimbursements, state/local tax return preparation, and benefit payment issuance. Minimum Requirements

Graduation from high school or successful completion of GED, preferably supplemented by business school or college coursework in accounting or bookkeeping. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, and/or purchasing which should include data entry, accounts payable/receivable and electronic recordkeeping. Proficient in the use of computers with knowledge of Microsoft Office Software. Must successfully complete a background check related to this position prior to any promotion o offer of employment. Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Additional Requirements

May require some local travel and use of a personal vehicle. The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may • include long hours and unusual schedules.
