The School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences (SANS), University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), seeks applications and nominations for the position of Project Manager, "The From Learning to Leading: Cultivating the Next Generation of Diverse Food and Agriculture Professionals (NEXTGEN) Program". The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the NEXTGEN. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team encompassing several programs within the 1890 Land Grant Universities, interacting with all personnel, and coordinating sub-award administration. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Project Manager are to provide administrative and scientific oversight of NEXTGEN in concert with the Direct and the Core Project Administration and related management structures. Specific responsibilities will include: Provide leadership and guidance to the NEXTGEN to ensure that the project's goals and objectives are met. Administer grants and contracts made by NEXTGEN. Ensure Project data collection and management are performed according to Data Management Protocol. Coordinate NEXTGEN's activities across partner institutions including the Advisory Board, Planning & Review Team, and Consortium Executive Committee, Technical Advisory Board, and external stakeholders. Design, implement, and maintain program's website, marketing, and social media. Liaise with UMES Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR), OSPR at partner institutions, SANS Office of Fiscal Affairs, and other relevant university offices. Oversee program performance and relevant program reports. Supervise the delivery of program goals across the 1890 universities in collaboration with all program actors. Establish and maintain linkages with relevant public and private sector entities affiliated with NEXGEN. Work closely with the SANS Center for Student Excellence to ensure effective and efficient coordination of student activities. Participate in professional development activities. Required Qualifications

BS/BA in economics, business, agricultural sciences or related field. Knowledge of international education and development issues. Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to embrace rapid technological changes. Broad knowledge of computer and information technology. Evidence of development of productive collaborative partnerships across state boundaries and institutions. Preferred Qualifications

M.S./M.A. in economics, business, agricultural sciences or related field. Knowledge of extension and outreach programs and with a commitment to the broad mission of a land-grant university. Ability to interact and communicate effectively both orally and in writing within a culturally and ethnically diverse environment. A well-established record of funded research, administrative, and scientific management of projects funded by USDA/NIFA Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines. Ability to function effectively as an independent administrator and as a part of senior administrative team. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Ability to take on new responsibilities and work effectively in an environment of change and ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with external constituencies and stakeholders including public and private organizations. Problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in designing, implementing, and maintaining websites, marketing outlets, and social media. Demonstrated experience of implementing successful international education and engagement initiatives.
