OVERVIEW

The Desktop Applications Engineer will configure, install, and maintain Firm applications for end user computers. The role includes requirements gathering, customization, documentation, level 2/3 support and ongoing troubleshooting throughout the application's life cycle. The Applications Engineer assumes ownership of key applications, maintaining expert level knowledge, including the evaluation and recommendation for updates as new versions are released. This role will also assist the team with software packaging and deployment compliance.

The Desktop Applications Engineer will also utilize Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune to manage workstations including application deployment, configuration, updates and compliance/reporting. In this position, the Applications Engineer will leverage their expertise to implement and manage cutting-edge solutions that enhance system performance, improve security posture, and streamline device management across the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Management Manages and coordinates application delivery, system updates, patch management, and new workstation configuration using MECM and Intune. Researches, documents, and implements application requirements and specifications; Configures and maintains end user programs and enterprise applications, including version upgrades, patch management and security configurations; Reviews user support calls/incidents to determine issues, trends, training opportunities and other needs to improve functionality and/or user processes; Liaises with the Firm's software vendors for prompt remediation of any problems or emergencies; Engages with network administrators, systems analysts, programmers, user support staff and other application owners to resolve any defects in products or company systems; Recommends, schedules, and performs software improvements and upgrades for optimal performance of the Firm's workstations; Assists with Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, including Intune, OneDrive, and Office 365, to enhance productivity and collaboration; Provides knowledge transfer to other IT staff about applications, procedures and projects through documentation, knowledge-based articles, Tech Tips and other methods; Conducts regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions; Strategy & Planning

Collaborates with key lawyers, support staff and application owners in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications; Interacts with end users to determine the most appropriate configuration and customization of the Firm's applications; Actively participates in cross-departmental projects as needed; Interacts regularly with managers, customers, and vendors to field queries and questions; and Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required; EXPERIENCE:

At least 5-10 years of hands-on IT experience implementing, supporting and troubleshooting end user applications; A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM); working knowledge of Microsoft Intune strongly preferred; Advanced functional experience in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and email applications required; Experience with Ivanti Environment Manager, or similar; Experience interacting with users to resolve support incidents; Demonstrated experience managing and documenting projects with PMO oversite; Experience with Windows 10/11 management and troubleshooting; PREFERRED :

Experience implementing and managing Microsoft Modern Workplace (cloud) solutions such as Intune, OneDrive, Teams, and M365 Compliance; Experience with scripting (Powershell, CMD, VBA, VBScript); Experience in a Legal Environment; Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM); Familiarity with Microsoft Entra, Purview, and cloud security technologies; KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and managing MECM and Intune environments; Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, application deployment, and patch management; Familiarity with Active Directory (Group Policies/GPPs, Security Groups, etc.); Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving techniques; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed work team environment; Capable of analyzing and solving problems independently; Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects; Extremely comfortable and competent working with external and internal clients; Available to work extended hours based on project needs, deadlines, etc.; Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus; and Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
