Description
Wellworks For You is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of managing incoming and outgoing financial transactions while also assisting with financial recordkeeping. They will also be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations. This position will report to the Finance Team and work closely with Human Resources.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Responsibilities
Manage vendor payments, including necessary setup, verifications, resolving discrepancies. Record credit card transactions and ensure they reconcile with the statements, confirming that all necessary receipts and documentation are collected. Post daily customer payments by recording Checks, ACHs and Credit Card Transactions, and verify totals against actual deposits. Address invoice inquiries and discrepancies with customers and vendors. Organize and maintain customer remittance and deposit records. Create and analyze AP aging report. Assist with reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Ensure vendor invoices are coded appropriately within the general ledger. Preparing reports on delinquent customer accounts and customer payment profiles. Adhere to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Payroll Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state-specific regulations. Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and benefits. Process all payroll changes, including salary, state of residence changes, garnishments, direct deposit, etc. Set up and maintain state employment tax accounts, responding to inquiries in a timely manner, and notifying Paylocity of changes and updates. Generate payroll reports and summaries for management. Responsible for year-end reporting including the review of W-2s and 1099s for accuracy. Process semi-monthly 401k funding and 401k related payroll changes. Assist HR with annual 401k mailings as needed. Communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll-related matters and resolve issues promptly. Stay updated on changes in state payroll laws and regulations. Requirements
Accounts Payable and Receivable and/or bookkeeping experience, strongly preferred Extensive knowledge of multi-state payroll functions including preparation, reconciliations, internal controls, and payroll taxes, required Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle confidential information with integrity Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficient with payroll software. Paylocity experience is strongly preferred Proficient with accounting software. QuickBooks online is preferred Skilled in using Microsoft Excel to analyze large volumes of data Maintain up-to-date knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and regulations Work Environment
This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days a week in the Frazer, PA office. Because you will be handling confidential client information, you must work from your designated home office or the Frazer office. You cannot work in a public location. Computer equipment and VPN access are provided. Employee must provide their own internet access. This position's hours will be Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm, or 9am to 5pm ET. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 5 pounds at times. Continuous keying on a keyboard throughout the day Position requires the use of headphones to answer phone calls via computer
