Project Manager - Water Technology Team Research
on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.
As a
Project Manager - Water Technology
Team you will:
Responsible for the management of multiple projects, funding sources, and fluctuating prioritizes from program office Oversees core team contractor personnel Responsible for tasking in a dynamic research and design environment and ensuring that tasking is appropriate for the skill sets of personnel Generates new work ideas and leads team through strategic proposal development, review, and vetting processes Serves as the primary interface between contractor team and NASA management Prepares financial estimates such as: cost of new projects/lab support, projected costs to maintain core team through fiscal year, monthly projections Manages Work Authorization Documents and charge codes required to provide the appropriate breakdown of charges for NASA management Responsible for monthly financials, including estimates, variance reports, and supplementals Prepares and presents monthly Technical/Cost/Schedule/Risk (TCSR) package for the projects and the lab Actively maintains schedules and tracks milestones Manages procurements for the labs and projects Assists lab manager with Test Readiness Review preparation, including the renewal of certification letters Might perform administrative duties concerning chemical hygiene, deionized water supply, and property management Perform other duties as required Here's What You'll Need:
Requisition Qualifications:
A BS degree and a minimum of 5-10 years experience are typically required Prior experience with Government and internal company financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating Prior experience managing and leading a team Experience with research and development efforts Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules Soft skills to manage a variety of personnel with different personalities and strengths Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion Familiarity with Microsoft Office products Requisition Preferences:
BS degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited school and five (5) years of related experience Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures Knowledge of spacecraft systems, specifically water systems
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which this position has been advertised.

Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
